The last song Johnny Cash recorded in the studio was "Ain't No Grave" and director Chris Milk and developer Aaron Koblin have created a site where fans from around the world can create their own unique renderings of a scene from the video. It's terrific.
Part of why it's terrific is probably the creative direction which every industry from business to politics can likely take a page from when creating a communal piece: there's enough room to express one's own vision yet everyone uses the same tools. In this case, visitors get the same set of brushes and the colors are limited to shades of grey, black and white. The end result: Everyone's uniqueness belongs next to each other.
